Refund

Flight Cancellation

After the delay of his plane, we can sometimes hesitate to ask to be compensated. Yet, it is quite simple to know his rights and to claim it.

Other cases

Passengers may cancel their flight at the last minute if the fare conditions of the booking allows it.

You can cancel your reservation online and receive a refund. Refund will be made on the debit or credit card used to purchase a ticket. If you have paid using another means of payment, you will be advised of the possible repayment options.

You can claim your refund from the “manage my reservation” section. For any online refund request, fill out a form on www.kenya-airways.com/plan-and-book/payment-methods/online-refunds/en/

You can call the Kenya Airways call center to ask an advisor to cancel the booking and get a refund.

Once your application is processed, the Kenyan company will pay you the amount to be refunded to your account / credit card. It can take ten days or more.

Kenya Airways informs its passengers that any refund request sent by mail will not be accepted.

The African airline reserves the right to refuse a refund request if it finds that the flight has been booked from another travel agency.

in the case where the passenger cancels his flight because of the death of a family member, the company will refund the full amount of his reservation.

Flight cancellation to Europe

If cancelled flight, delayed or overbooked, is scheduled to a destination in Europe, the passenger will have right to compensation which varies between 250€ (25.000 KES) and 600€ (73.000KES). This is entirely related to the distance of the flight or still the duration of the delay.

In case of difficult weather conditions for example, the company may refuse to pay. But if it is a technical problem, the claim for compensation is totally legitimate.

Compensation can go up to 600€, not just in vouchers. When the company agrees to pay, it is quite possible to demand cash.

This one-sided correspondence from me has gone on long enough. THIS IS WHAT I WANT:

I paid for 4 RT tickets on Kenya Airways departing 12/02/18 NYC USA to NAIROBI KENYA returning 12/19/18 . I want the 4 tickets I paid for reissued now with new dates!

I am due the 2 unused tickets for JAMES GRIFFITH and JOY KIMBRELL that you Kenya Airways have received payment for. Through no fault of my own, and since there was absolutely NO ONE available via telephone nor in person to help me change the flight times for James Griffith and Joy Kimbrell on December 2, 2018, I want these 2 tickets reissued today to JAMES GRIFFITH and JOY KIMBRELL with an available date for this coming November 17th, 2019.

I am also due the 1 unused ticket for PATRICK TULSIE that you Kenya Airways have received payment for. Through no fault of my own, PATRICK TULSIE was tragically killed in a car accident in November 2018 prior to the scheduled departure date of December 2, 2018 via this pre-purchased ticket. Per your request in November 2018, I emailed the Death Certificate but have to-date received no answer or refund from Kenya Airways…the “Pride of Africa.” Therefore, to save you the process of refunding the ticket, I want this ticket reissued to JOY KIMBRELL today with an open-end departure date in 2020.

I am also due the 1 unused ticket for ROSALAND TULSIE that you Kenya Airways have received payment for. Through no fault of my own or hers, ROSALAND TULSIE was unable to travel in December 2018 due to her involvement in the tragic car accident that killed her beloved husband in November 2018. I complied with your request in November 2018 and have communicated all the necessary details, but to date have received no reply. Since the accident ROSALAND has had surgeries and multiple health issues and, as before, is unable to travel. Therefore, to save you the process of refunding the ticket, I want this ticket reissued to JAMES GRIFFITH today with an open-end departure date in 2020.

IN SUMMATION, please be business diligent and kind enough to do the right thing by reissuing the tickets I paid Kenya Airways…the Pride of Africa for, but through no fault of my own was unable to use. It is the only right thing for you to do at this time, since your airline was either uncaring or unable at the time I needed your help to be there for me.

Because of your inability to be there for me, I was forced to rebook all flights through other airlines, along with all lodging and ground transportation, in a mad scramble to make our scheduled appointments to and from Kenya. I was out-of-pocket a great additional expense because of the lack of service from KENYA AIRWAYS…the PRIDE OF AFRICA.

I am expecting this whole incident will be put to rest with a positive outcome.

I am certain you will be forthright in remedying this situation with purpose, as you must keep proclaiming only the truth to remain KENYA AIRWAYS…the PRIDE OF AFRICA. I would be honored to publish a book of your accomplishments someday.
